The design brief;

Design a modern family home development consisting of 3 energy efficient houses on a site previously denied planning permission for housing.

A detailed study of low carbon building materials was undertaken for this project as well as utilising knowledge of Passivhaus design.  The result is a carbon neutral Passivhaus development that will achieve a platinum and gold sustainability label under section 7 of the building standards technical handbook and has been designed to be sympathetic to the local agricultural environment.

The design and specification are in-line with the Scottish Government's targets to reduce domestic and construction carbon emissions by 20% by 2020.
